Student Recitals

These non-competitive performance opportunities are open to any student of MDML. Beginner, intermediate and advanced students are welcome. See the information below for more information on how to sign up.

To participate, students must complete and submit the Student Recital Application Form found on our Downloads Page at least 7 prior to the recital date.

The recital fee of $10 per entry is due at the time of registration. Payments should be made by Zelle to the MDML Bank Zelle using the email mdml2024@yahoo.com. Cash and checks will no longer be accepted at the recital. Only students who have paid with Zelle prior to the recital will be allowed to perform.

Winners Recital
Sunday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

Repertoire: Lower Elementary students must perform two pieces by two different composers. All other levels must perform two compositions from two different style periods. Time limits apply to both pieces together and will be enforced. Performers must NOT play repeats. Performance may be stopped before completion due to time limits.

First, Second and Third Place Winners will receive trophies. All winners must perform in the Winners Recital. It is expected that all winners will attend the entire recital and dress in appropriate performance attire. Any winner unable to perform in the Winners Recital will forfeit the trophy but will retain the title won. All competition performers will receive an MDML Certificate of Participation.

Entry Fee is $40.00. Teachers must submit an Entry Form and Two Completed Comment Sheets (available on the Downloads page) for each entry. 

The Entry Form contains instructions and addresses for submitting Entry Fees, Entry Form, and Comment Sheets.

ENTRY FORMS, COMMENT SHEETS, and FEES must be RECEIVED by the DEADLINE DATE of MARCH 6, 2026.

October 15, 2025 - Pre-Registration

December 15, 2025 - Registration deadline. Registration fee is $40.00/student, non-refundable. Payment is due via Zelle: mdml2024@yahoo.com. Those who prefer to pay by check may do so by mailing it to Sarah Kim, 429 Blossom Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Please send one check payable to MDML. Sarah must receive all checks by December 15, 2025.
